About Gracey Care

Gracey Care is a telehealth-forward healthcare company delivering accessible, high-quality patient care across multiple states. We are growing rapidly and looking for motivated, independent Nurse Practitioners who are ready to take ownership of their practice in a flexible, remote environment.

The Opportunity

This is a 1099 independent contractor position — not an employee role. You set your schedule, work from home, and serve patients across the states in which you hold licensure. Compensation is hourly. This is an ideal fit for NPs who want autonomy, flexibility, and the ability to grow their income by expanding their hours and state licensure.

You must reside in Arizona. Multi-state licensure is required; the more states you're licensed in, the more earning potential you have.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Nurse Practitioner with Gracey Care, you will independently manage a telehealth patient panel, providing comprehensive care from your home office. Responsibilities include:

Clinical Care

Conduct thorough telehealth visits including new patient intakes, follow-ups, and urgent care encounters
Perform comprehensive health assessments and physical examinations (virtual)
Diagnose acute and chronic conditions across a broad scope of practice
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.)
Prescribe medications, including controlled substances where licensure permits
Manage chronic disease conditions (diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, etc.)
Provide preventive care counseling and patient education
Coordinate specialist referrals and follow-up care

Documentation & Compliance

Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation in Athena Health EMR
Ensure documentation meets billing, coding, and compliance standards (HCC coding, SOAP notes, etc.)
Maintain HIPAA compliance in all patient interactions and record handling
Adhere to state-specific prescribing regulations and scope-of-practice laws for each state of licensure
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and chart audits as needed

Administrative & Communication

Respond to patient messages and prescription refill requests within designated turnaround times
Coordinate with Gracey Care's care team, medical director, and support staff as needed
Maintain up-to-date DEA registration and state-controlled substance licenses
Renew and maintain all required licenses and certifications independently (as a 1099 contractor)

Required Qualifications

Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Arizona (required)
Active licensure in multiple states — the more the better; multi-state NLC Compact licensure strongly preferred
Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited NP program
Current national certification (AANP or ANCC — FNP, AGPCNP, AGACNP, or equivalent)
Current, unrestricted DEA registration
Minimum 2 years of clinical NP experience (primary care, urgent care, or internal medicine preferred)
Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, HIPAA-compliant workspace
Ability to work independently and manage a patient caseload with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills for virtual patient interaction

Preferred Qualifications

⭐ Athena Health EMR proficiency — experience navigating and documenting in AthenaOne is a significant plus; prior users will have a faster onboarding and can begin seeing patients sooner
⭐ AI-savvy / tech-forward mindset — familiarity with AI-assisted clinical tools or AI-powered diagnostic support tools is highly valued as Gracey Care continues to integrate innovative technology into our care model
Experience in telehealth or virtual care delivery
Licensure in high-demand states (TX, FL, CA, NY, PA, IL, OH, GA, NC, WA)
Compact Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) participation states

Compensation & Terms

Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor — you are not an employee of Gracey Care
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (discussed during interview)
Schedule: Flexible — you choose your availability within our scheduling platform
Volume: Part-time and full-time hours available depending on licensure and patient demand
Benefits: As a 1099 contractor, you are responsible for your own health insurance, malpractice coverage, and taxes

Important: You are responsible for maintaining your own professional liability (malpractice) insurance, NP licensure renewal fees, DEA registration, and any state-specific controlled substance licenses. Gracey Care does not cover these costs.
