Full Job Description

The work of this position is performed in an Interventional Pain Management physician office. Experience with C-Arm Fluoroscopic X-ray is a plus but new grads are welcome and although pain management experience is preferred it is not required.

Exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, applying x-ray energy, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.

X-Ray Technician Responsibilities:

Displays flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness and accountability when dealing with patients and their families.
Creates an environment of safe delivery of patient care and functions with a constant awareness of safety issues.
Practices aseptic technique, isolation and infection control procedures and prevents cross contamination. Follows Universal Precautions.
Demonstrates knowledge of Radiation Safety, Material Safety Data Sheet and Fire/Safety policies and procedures.
Uses pre-op/pre procedure verification check list, site marked with the physician’s initials (physician performing procedure) and using “Time Out”.
Demonstrates competence with specific equipment used on all diagnostic and interventional procedures performed. Assists the supervising physician in capturing the best projections to delineate the anatomy.
Demonstrates competency in providing monitoring equipment used during exams.
Assists in preparing the room, trays (sterile technique) and patient according to physician preference following Universal Protocol in Interventional pain management procedures.
·Help to maintains communication with patient during procedure when appropriate.
·Willing to help in other areas where needed in the OR or PACU.
Other related duties as assigned.
Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

X-Ray Technician Requirements:

Bachelor's or associate's degree in radiologic technology, radiology, or a related field.
Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Appropriate state licensure.
Proven experience working as an X-ray technician.
Ability to move or lift patients.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
A patient and compassionate disposition.

This is full-time, 40 hours/week. Must be available to cover M-F and three possible shifts: 7am-3:30pm, 7:30am-8am, and 8am-4:30pm. No nights or weekends required. Reliable transportation is a must.
