Full Job Description

Responsibilities:

Greet and check in patients while creating a warm and welcoming experience
Schedule appointments and accurately manage the patient schedule
Answer incoming phone calls and assist with patient questions
Verify medical and vision insurance benefits and accurately enter benefit information
Communicate expected patient costs and confidently collect copays, balances, and other payments
Maintain accurate patient demographics and electronic medical records
Assist with patient care coordination and referrals as assigned
Monitor and respond to patient communications
Communicate proactively with doctors, technicians, optical staff, and other front-office team members to help maintain efficient patient flow
Complete administrative tasks including scanning, faxing, document management, and record requests
Maintain an organized and professional front-office environment
Recognize what needs to be done and take initiative rather than waiting to be asked
Follow through on assigned tasks and patient concerns to ensure nothing falls through the cracks

Skills:

Strong administrative skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in using electronic medical office systems
Knowledge of medical or dental office procedures and terminology
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Experience working as a medical receptionist - Candidate must be a master of first impressions
