Full Job Description

Lampe Management Company is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our accounting team in Smithfield, NC. This role offers hands-on training and direct collaboration with experienced accounting professionals across key functions, including administration/receivables, accounts payable, and payroll. Following successful training, the Assistant Controller will assume responsibility for higher-level accounting functions within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare bank reconciliations.

· Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports to property owners.

· Assist with and oversee various accounting functions specific to property management.

· Maintain accurate and confidential financial records.

· Support daily accounting operations and internal reporting requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

· Prior accounting experience strongly required (including balance sheet, income statement and general ledger).

*Proficiency in Excel.

· High level of integrity and strict adherence to confidentiality standards.

· Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a time-sensitive environment.

Compensation & Benefits

· Starting salary: $55,000 – $60,000, based on experience and education

· Salary increases to $65,000 – $70,000 after one year of satisfactory performance

· Full benefits package available after 90 days

· 12 paid vacation days annually

· 7 paid company holidays

Minimum Standards

· Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (required)

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (preferred)

· Minimum age of 21 years old

· Must Own Reliable Transportation

· Valid State Driver’s License

· Background check, Pre-Employment Drug Screen & Physical Required

· This is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote work

Schedule & Location

· Full-time position (40 hours/week)

· Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

· On-site role at our corporate office in Smithfield, NC (no remote option)
