Full Job Description

Gonzales Healthcare Systems has an immediate opening for the position of Patient Financial Assistance Program Clerk. Performs charity care review and application processing for Gonzales Healthcare Systems. Processes accounts and handles charity care questions. Performs various business office duties and works self-pay, contract, deceased patient and bankruptcy accounts as well as self-pay credits. Maintains records and prepares reports as necessary, enters data into the computer system and prepares and delivers necessary documents and reports to Gonzales Healthcare System users. Verifies reporting. Backup switchboard operator, daily cash reconciliation functions and preparing deposit. Answers multi-line telephone using departmental procedures in routing and transferring calls. Full-time position with competitive salary and benefits.

Job requirements include:

High school diploma or equivalent
One year business office experience in a medical setting
Knowledge of computer programs such as Word and Excel
Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid laws, rules and regulations preferred
Ability to speak and understand Spanish preferred

Gonzales Healthcare Systems, located in Gonzales, Texas has an immediate opening for the position of Patient Financial Assistance Program Clerk. Our facility is a 33-bed general hospital providing in-patient acute care to the residents of Gonzales County. The hospital offers a wide range of services including obstetrics, in-patient and outpatient therapy services, diagnostic imaging including CT, MRI and Digital Mammography, full-service laboratory, general and orthopedic surgery, and has a Level IV Trauma Designation. In addition to the hospital, Gonzales Healthcare Systems also operates three rural health clinics, a home health agency and a full-service fitness center.
