Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team primarily on nights and weekends. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment and a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices. Experience at a fast food corporate restaurant will not count as experience. You will need to know how to cook a burger and chicken breast to temp.

You will be responsible for preparing and plating appetizers, sandwiches, wraps and entress that meet our standards, while keeping a clean and organized kitchen, in a small kitchen where only two cooks work together at a time. If you like coming up with new dishes and playing around with ideas in regards to menu, you'll fit right in but if you want to come in and just cook the menu, do your job and go home, that's fine too!

No smoking or vaping allowed on the clock, on the property.

Limited phone time. Repeated use will result in phone being put in a locker for the shift.

Being on time is important. Showing up for scheduled shifts is important.

This position is mainly nights and weekends. There will be opportunities for earlier shifts, shifts that aren't closing shifts, or working longer shifts/fewer days to make the schedule work for the right person.

Kitchen runs 11am-10pm Sunday-Thursday and 11am-11:30pm Friday and Saturday. With two cooks closing who work quickly, it should take approximately 60-75 minutes to restock/refill/clean/sweep/mop the kitchen/prep areas. Shifts start between 2-5pm every day.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and menu specifications.
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety guidelines and regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools.

Skills

Proficient in knife skills and various cooking techniques.
Experience in high-volume kitchens.
Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team.
Familiarity with the food industry trends and culinary innovations.
