Job description

Position: Maintenance Technician Location: Greater Portland Area Type: Full-time (or part-time, depending on need)

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs in group-home properties.

· Ensure that buildings, equipment, and systems are safe, clean, and fully operational.

· Conduct regular preventive maintenance and inspections of HVAC, appliances, and safety systems.

· Respond to maintenance requests from staff quickly and professionally.

· Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inventory of supplies, and work orders.

· Coordinate and occasionally oversee external contractors or specialized service providers.

· Help with minor groundskeeping, snow removal, and keeping common areas clean as needed.

· Assist with emergency repairs or urgent maintenance needs in a way that minimizes disruption to residents.

· Comply with all health, safety, and regulatory standards relevant to residential care homes.

Qualifications / Skills:

· Prior experience in facility maintenance or building repair preferred.

· Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry.

· Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.

· Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to work independently or as part of a team.

· Reliable, punctual, and able to respond to after-hours maintenance calls occasionally.

· Excellent communication skills and a commitment to helping maintain a safe, supportive environment for residents.

Job Type: Full -time or Part-time as needed
