Full Job Description

The Town of Gorham is seeking an experienced finance leader to serve as our next Director of Finance & Administration. This full-time position serves as the Town’s Chief Financial Officer and plays a key strategic role in supporting town-wide operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Lead accounting, payroll, AP, AR, and cash management

· Manage budgeting, forecasting & long‑range financial planning

· Monitor resource planning and ensure sound fiscal management

· Coordinate audits, internal controls & compliance

· Provide financial reporting to the Town Manager, elected officials, and town employees

· Supervise, direct, and evaluate finance department staff

· Support procurement, contract management & administrative improvements

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or public administration

· Five (5) years of progressively responsible finance experience (municipal or public sector finance preferred)

· One (1) year of supervisory experience

· Knowledge of GAAP/GASB & enterprise resource planning systems (BS&A software experience preferred)
