Engineering Internship
The Engineering Intern will assist the Engineering team with projects that support manufacturing operations, continuous improvement, safety, automation, and process efficiency. This role provides hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing environment while giving students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects.
Potential locations for this internship include Northern Indiana (Elkhart, Albion, Fremont).
As an Engineering Intern, you will be working on hands-on projects. Potential projects may include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting continuous improvement and manufacturing efficiency projects
- Assisting with automation and capital improvement projects
- Conducting time studies and evaluating production processes
- Supporting ergonomic and workplace safety improvement initiatives
- Assisting with equipment and process troubleshooting
- Supporting plant layout and material handling projects
- Helping identify production bottlenecks and opportunities to improve capacity
- Assisting with project planning, scoping, and cost estimates
- Creating drawings, documentation, and training materials to support engineering projects
- Collaborating with Engineering, Operations, and other team members on assigned projects
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Clear written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Basic understanding of engineering principles appropriate to your level of study
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for engineering and manufacturing
In addition, you must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or a related field. Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Safety Engineering are preferred areas of study.
