Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and motivated Personal Trainer / HYROX Coach to join our dynamic team at Metro KC Fitness. In this role, you will inspire clients to achieve their health and fitness goals through personalized coaching, program design, and motivational support. You will play a pivotal role in leading our functional fitness programming, blending traditional strength and conditioning with specialized HYROX race preparation. Your expertise will help individuals improve their strength, endurance, running efficiency, and overall well-being in a positive, engaging environment. Please note that this is a 100% commission-based position. Earning potential is entirely performance-based and directly tied to your ability to attract, sign, and retain clients within our thriving community.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive fitness assessments to understand clients’ needs, athletic baselines, and fitness goals.
Develop customized workout plans tailored to individual fitness levels, biomechanics, and health conditions, including specific programming for HYROX athletes.
Lead engaging functional group fitness classes, HYROX training sessions, and one-on-one personal training sessions with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Motivate clients through effective coaching techniques, fostering a high-energy, supportive environment for progress and "race day" preparation.
Educate clients on proper exercise techniques, body mechanics, running pacing, nutrition, and injury prevention.
Master and coach the standard execution of the 8 HYROX functional movements (Sled Push/Pull, Wall Balls, Burpee Broad Jumps, etc.).
Maintain detailed records of client progress, workout routines, and program adjustments.
Promote fitness programs, specialized HYROX classes, and training services to attract new clients while ensuring excellent customer service.

Requirements

Proven sports coaching experience, functional fitness background, or a degree in physical education or related fields.
Strong knowledge of biomechanics, physiology, anatomy, and aerobic conditioning.
Certification in personal training from a recognized organization (NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA); CPR/AED certification required.
HYROX Method/Academy certification is highly desirable (or a willingness to obtain it upon hiring).
Experience designing personalized workout plans, structural periodization, and functional program development.
Strong entrepreneurial mindset with knowledge of fitness sales techniques and customer service excellence to thrive in a performance-driven, commission-based structure.
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to build rapport and motivate diverse individuals from beginners to competitive athletes.
Knowledge of fitness sales techniques and customer service excellence in a health club setting to help grow your personal roster.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate first aid procedures confidently.
Prior experience working in the fitness industry or a dynamic gym environment is highly desirable.
Valid liability insurance coverage for personal training activities is preferred.
