Full Job Description

Position Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Director of Clinical Operations to join our highly skilled team. An ideal candidate will have proven management experience in a highly dynamic setting. Your organizational, communication, and leadership skills are second to none and you enjoy developing solutions that push innovative boundaries. You’ll work closely with the Executive Director, network provider leadership, and data analytics leadership to strategize and develop long-term plans that focus on quality and automation at Monument Health. This is a highly visible role with significant responsibility over daily clinical and population health operations.

The Director of Clinical Operations leads the development and execution of the population health services and primary care clinical operations teams, responsible for performance monitoring, team training, and educational outreach to providers. They will work with Executive Leadership to drive forward strategy on value-based contract performance and interpret payor reports to track and forecast performance. They will ensure strong coordination of program development across all aspects of the Monument team.

This role requires exceptional communication and relationship-building skills to engage diverse stakeholders, interpret critical data, and drive continuous improvement in clinical and cost containment outcomes.

Essential Job Functions

Coordinates all clinical operational activity, assisting the Executive Director on all operational matters to assure the mission and core values are carried out
Direct supervision of the clinical operations, employer solutions, and population health teams
Collaborate with executive leadership in the development and implementation of performance goals and long-term operational plans
Share matrixed responsibility for analytics, risk stratification, and reporting
Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day clinical operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for our key initiatives
Build and maintain relationships with all stakeholder group leaders, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding clinical operational activity and strategic goals
Manage the Clinical Effectiveness Committee, Medicaid Committee and other assigned committee meetings to assist with maintaining payor and provider relationships. This involves setting agendas, compiling minutes and Board reports, and tracking identified action items.
Play an active role in Joint Operating Committee (JOC) meetings with payor partners to build strong relationships. Manage payor quality meeting; this involves setting agendas, compiling minutes and Board reports, and tracking identified action items.
Assist Executive Director with the development of value-based arrangements with payors.
Responsible for oversight of all aspects of clinical operations including scorecard development, establishing key performance indicators, training team members and other collaborators, and reporting out on performance to organization leadership.

Responsible for oversight of all aspects of employer solutions operations including check in presentation development and employer-specific program and resource development.
Work with stakeholders to identify education and resource development needs related to value-based contracts. Work with the Monument Health team members to develop necessary materials and distribute to network partners.
Liaise with IT on the development of analytics, risk stratification, and reporting resources.
Interpret complex data and reports to prepare meaningful materials relevant to various stakeholder groups. Work with Monument Health leadership and team members to develop programs to address identified areas for improvement and performance dashboards to track and report out on performance.
Manage multiple projects at once and be able to balance numerous stakeholders’ opinions and priorities.
Participate in budget development and ensure strong fiscal stewardship of all resources and tools under your supervision.
Supervise, coach, engage and manage team resources as required.
Light housekeeping (shared by all employees).
Protect Monument’s value by keeping information confidential.
Review systems and processes and suggest/make modifications to address issues.
Occasional travel is required for conferences and assignments.
Perform other related duties as necessary for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the organization.

Qualifications

Three years of management experience in healthcare or health plan setting
Five or more years of experience in clinical quality and/or process improvement
Experience in process engineering, program development, data/analytics, clinical operations and/or member services
Experience building and executing against business plans, strategic plans, and organizational goals preferred
1+ year of experience in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office Suite
Reliable transportation and valid and current drivers license and auto insurance
Highly personable, with demonstrated communication and presentation skills to diverse audiences including executive teams and boards
Passion for advocacy and ability to motivate others
Mature critical thinking skills
Brings a high degree of professionalism
Able to accept feedback in the spirit of growth and continuous improvement
Knowledge or experience in value-based care delivery
Must adopt and live the Monument Health core values

Education

Baccalaureate degree required, with a preference in health related study or business. Graduate degree in public health, healthcare administration or clinical preferred.
