Full Job Description

We're hiring a Relay Driver to support our operations by transporting uniforms, linens, mats, and other products between Maurer’s plant and branch locations. This is a hands-on driving role focused on safe transportation, accurate loading and unloading, dependable communication, and keeping product moving smoothly between locations. This is an active, transportation-focused role for someone who is reliable, alert, and comfortable working independently. We need a safety-minded driver who can follow schedules, verify loads, secure product properly, complete required inspections and paperwork, and represent the company professionally on the road and at each location.

This position is scheduled 4:00 pm - 1:00 or 2:00 am.

What You'll Do

Drive between plant and branch locations to deliver clean product and pick up soiled product.
Load trailers with uniforms, linens, mats, and other products for transport.
Verify loads for accuracy before departure and upon delivery.
Unload product at branch locations and load soiled products for return.
Ensure loads are properly secured at all times.
Transport paperwork or other items between the office, plant, branches, and additional locations as needed.
Secure office and branch locations upon exit when required.
Complete daily inspections and vehicle maintenance report forms for the relay truck.
Notify supervisors of any issues with the relay truck, trailer, product, or route.
Drive safely and professionally while following company policies, applicable laws, and MDOT regulations.

Safety-minded, alert, and able to stay focused during driving and loading tasks.
Comfortable working independently while communicating clearly with supervisors and branch teams.
Detail-oriented when verifying loads, completing paperwork, and inspecting equipment.
Calm and steady when handling busy schedules, changing priorities, or route-related issues.
Professional in how you drive, communicate, and represent Maurer’s at each location.

What You'll Bring

High school diploma or GED required.
One or more years of experience driving trailer trucks required.
CDL Class A license and MDOT Medical Examiner’s Card required when applicable.
Ability to meet applicable Federal Motor Carrier Driver Qualifications, Part 391.
Ability to work full-time and overtime as needed.
Ability to perform repeated physical tasks, including bending, stooping, stretching, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting at least 50 pounds repetitively, and pushing wheeled carts up to 900 pounds.
Ability to operate motor vehicles, commercial-size vehicles, and trailer truck semis.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
