Responsibilities: PCB Electrical Hardware Engineer (PCB Design & Hardware Validation)

Location: Addison/Carrollton, TX (Primarily Onsite with Some Flexibility)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an Electrical Hardware Engineer who thrives on solving complex, real-world engineering challenges. This role offers the opportunity to work on highly compact, high-density electronic designs where PCB layout quality directly impacts product performance and customer success.

The ideal candidate enjoys both detailed PCB design and hands-on hardware development. You'll own products throughout the development lifecycle—from schematic implementation and PCB layout to bring-up, debugging, testing, and manufacturing support.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact on innovative products while working closely with firmware, software, and manufacturing teams in a fast-growing engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities:

PCB Design & Development

Design and layout complex printed circuit boards using Altium Designer.
Create high-density, small form-factor PCB designs featuring fine-pitch BGAs and advanced component packaging.
Optimize layouts for signal integrity, manufacturability, reliability, and performance.

Hardware Bring-Up & Validation

Perform hands-on hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, debugging, and verification of newly developed circuits.
Diagnose and resolve issues on prototype and low-volume production boards assembled in-house.
Conduct electrical testing and validation activities to ensure design functionality and performance.

Manufacturing & Test Support

Design, develop, and maintain electrical test fixtures for internal use and overseas manufacturing partners.
Support prototype builds and transition products into high-volume manufacturing.
Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure successful product launches.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with firmware, software, product design, and manufacturing teams.
Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical decision-making.
Help establish and improve scalable engineering processes and best practices.

Documentation

Develop and maintain hardware specifications, design documentation, verification plans, and test reports.
Support product compliance, validation, and quality initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
3+ years of professional PCB design and layout experience.
Strong proficiency with Altium Designer.
Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.
Experience performing hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation.
Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems independently.
Strong collaboration skills and experience working with firmware and software engineering teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with EMI/EMC design practices and compliance testing.
Programming experience in C and/or Python.
Knowledge of IEC 60601 standards.
Experience working within an ISO 13485 quality environment.
Experience taking products from concept and prototyping through production and manufacturing.
Familiarity with medical device or other regulated product development environments.

Additional Information

Position is based close to Addison, Texas, with the majority of work performed onsite.
U.S. work authorization required
