Full Job Description

Preferred Quality Services, Inc. is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our growing Job Shop team!

If you are an experienced machinist who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working on challenging precision components, this could be a great opportunity for you. We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist with experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes, with Mastercam programming experience strongly preferred.

What You'll Do

Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to produce precision-machined components
Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam and machine controls
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD models, and work instructions
Perform complete machine setups, including tooling, workholding, tool offsets, and work offsets
Make program and machine adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy
Inspect first-piece, in-process, and final parts using precision measuring equipment
Troubleshoot machining issues and determine appropriate corrections
Monitor tooling and replace or adjust worn tooling as needed
Optimize machining processes to improve cycle times, tool life, quality, and efficiency
Maintain dimensional accuracy and meet customer and quality requirements
Complete production and quality documentation accurately
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all company safety policies and ISO 9001:2015 quality standards
Work closely with supervisors, quality personnel, and other machinists
Perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

3+ years of CNC machining experience
Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes
1+ year of Mastercam experience preferred/required depending on skill level
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
Strong understanding of GD&T
Ability to independently make machine, tooling, offset, and program adjustments
Experience troubleshooting machining issues and correcting problems
Experience using precision measuring equipment, including:
Micrometers
Calipers
Bore gauges
Height gauges
Indicators
Thread gauges
Ability to work independently and make sound machining decisions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Excellent attendance, reliability, and work ethic
Willingness to learn and take on new machining challenges

Additional Experience That Is a Plus

Haas CNC mills and/or lathes
CNC mill setup and programming
CNC lathe setup and programming
Mastercam
Wire EDM
Experience in a Job Shop environment
CAD/CAM experience
Experience optimizing cycle times and machining processes

Schedule

4-Day Work Week – Monday through Thursday

1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM

Optional Friday overtime may be available.

Pay

$28.00–$34.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
