Full Job Description

Summary

With over 75 years of operation, Mika Meyers is a full-service law firm representing individuals, businesses, and local governments. The Firm offers services in a broad spectrum of practice areas - and a level of accessibility that is second to none. Mika Meyers provides the same quality of service as a large firm, but in a relationship-driven and cost-effective manner. With the main location in Grand Rapids, the firm has additional locations in Manistee and Caledonia.

Position

Mika Meyers is currently seeking a full-time litigation legal assistant for a position in its Grand Rapids office. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience with civil litigation, divorce and family law, estate planning, and probate and trust administration. Our ideal candidate should possess proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe) and document management.

Responsibilities Include:

Assisting Attorneys with court filings, docketing cases, communicating deadlines, and other litigation-related tasks
Providing general office support - opening, maintaining and organizing files, photocopying, maintaining calendars, coordinating meetings, calls and conferences to include ordering meals and scheduling conference rooms
Typing, document preparation, and strong client communications
Preparing correspondence, documents, and pleadings; take responsibility for formatting, consistency, and accuracy on time-sensitive, high-profile documents
Maintaining paper and electronic filing systems, sort and file correspondence, records, and other documents.

Qualifications:

Associate degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
Proficient with Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe)
Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines
Able to work in a team structured environment, as well as independently
Willing to learn
Engaging personality

Preferred:

Experience with Litigation with a focus on family law
Experience with document management programs

Compensation will be commensurate with education, skills, and experience.
