Tool Room Supervisor

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Supervises tool room personnel. Works closely with engineering on new job launches and prototypes while supporting production tooling needs to maintain high quality and ensure on-time delivery.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

JOB/TASK FUNCTIONS: (Must have Tool & Die Experience)

The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position. However, Plant Supervision or Toolroom manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.

Directly supervise all toolroom personnel for the most favorable costs and quality workmanship.
Maintain the established PM maintenance program that successfully cares for all tools to prevent quality and productivity problems.
Maintain tool improvement program that is data driven and successful in providing ongoing improvement related to die and tool performance.
Analyze machining and tooling problems and coordinate corrective action.
Provide instruction and guidance in the use of tool room equipment.
Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
Maintains harmonious employer/associate relations among those within the department.
Performs activities of associates supervised.

Punctual and regular attendance is required.
Able to work 2nd shift and additional hours as needed.
Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all duties.

Keeps work areas clean and orderly.
Participates in continuous improvement activities.
Assumes other duties as directed by Plant Supervision or Toolroom Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Tool and Die Journeyman or equivalent. This is a working supervisor. Will not be considered without Tool & Die Experience.
One year certificate from college or technical school; or a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years of experience supervising employees desired.

This full-time, salaried onsite role is a part of our Tool Room team and reports to the Tool & Die Manager.
