Full Job Description

Retina Associates is one of the most well-established and advanced practices devoted to diagnosing and treating diseases of the retina, macula, and vitreous in the Greater Kansas City area and surrounding communities. Our mission is to help every patient preserve or restore their sight through our advanced treatment options.

Each physician at Retina Associates is supported by their own clinical team to ensure the highest level of patient care. We are seeking a Clinical Manager dedicated to supporting a single physician within our practice. This position is responsible for managing daily clinical operations and supervising assigned personnel in a sub-specialty ophthalmology practice.T his position works directly with patients and travels with the physician to some of our different clinic locations throughout Kansas and Missouri. The base location for this position is in Lenexa, KS. Mileage reimbursement provided for travel.

Management Duties:

Train, supervise, and delegate tasks for clinical team.
Complete annual employee evaluations.
Review and approve timecards for clinical staff.
Demonstrate ability to identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts when dealing with members of the health care team and all personnel.
Demonstrate ability to implement problem solving techniques.
Daily awareness of practice staffing assignments and support appropriate staffing levels.
Exhibit timely, satisfactory completion of all job assignments with minimal assistance.
Facilitates communication between the physician and staff to minimize clinic flow disruptions.
Ability to communicate efficiently and promptly between various administrative departments (billing, PSR, HR) and other clinical teams.
Proficient in understanding and utilizing Knowledge Base filtering in ICP to optimize your physician profile.
Assign clinical staff duties as appropriate based on workflow and clinical needs, ensuring duties are completed correctly and within a timely manner.

Clinical Duties

Responsible for managing the workflow of the clinic.
Maintain physician schedule and determine appropriate patient scheduling template with available resources, supplies, and physical locations.
Evaluate, assess and prepare patients for examination.
Accompany doctor in examining patient and assist and document the examination.
Review examinations, disease process, test results, and therapeutic procedure to patient and family, assessing their understanding to take appropriate action.
Notifies physician of changes to the daily schedule, especially emergencies.
Document medications administered and any reactions.
Prepare patient for surgical encounter, assuring patient has the necessary information and/or consent form; and coordinate admission and pre-admission testing.
Assist in completion of all pertinent practice, insurance, hospital, and patient paperwork.
Coordinate supply and drug inventory for all appropriate locations.
Knowledge and practice of HIPAA, OSHA and EMR compliance guidelines in healthcare.
Organize and schedule meetings between physician and pharmaceutical representatives.
Develop and maintain schedule templates along with maintain physician ability in Practice Management.
Can effectively complete all duties listed under the Ophthalmic Medical Scribe job description.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year of leadership and management experience.
Experience working one on one with patients.
Strong customer service skills.
Computer literacy skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include accurate spelling while charting.
Demonstrates initiative in accomplishing practice goals.
Ability to work and manage a team environment.
Ability to multi-task and solve problems as they arise.
Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Leadership and management experience preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to our multiple clinic locations. Travel between locations is required.
Work is of a medium physical demand: walking and standing most of the time on duty; optional lifting of patients or patient assistance; high degree of hearing accuracy required; high degree of visual acuity.
