Full Job Description

About Bloom Hospitality & Catering (BHC): We provide food services to US Federal Government Agencies.

Objective: We are looking for multiple Cooks, Leads Cooks, Food Service Workers, and other personnel to assist with our government solutions division in Grayling, MI and nearby. You will work directly with our PM on a daily basis to help prepare, cook, serve and clean under our government contracts in MI. Our next contract will be at Camp Grayling from July 15th to August 19th.

On-Site Only Position. Candidate must be located within 45 minutes of Grayling, MI.

Overview

Join BHC as a Cook (government contract), where you will play a vital role in providing nutritious, high-quality meals for service members at Camp Grayling, MI in their commercial kitchen. The food you prepare will contribute directly to the well-being and morale of our Army community, supporting their daily routines and overall health.

This position is a temporary full-time position to provide food service for The Northern Strike exercise from July 15th to August 19th at Camp Grayling in Grayling, MI. Orientation is July 11th. Must be able to pass a background check to gain access to the base.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and cook main dishes according to recipes and meal service schedules.

2. Demonstrate strong knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and seasoning.

3. Ability to repurpose leftover food items.

4. Maintain food safety standards, cleanliness, and sanitation in the kitchen.

5. Operate and maintain state-of-the-art kitchen equipment.

6. Ensure consistency in food quality, portioning, and presentation.

7. Assist with additional kitchen duties as needed.

Requirements:

1. Prior cooking experience (preferably at a military base, or for events larger than 50+ personnel)

2. Ability to work in a high-temperature environment.

3. Capable of lifting 30-40 pounds.

4. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.

5. Adaptability and a team-oriented mindset.

This position is essential to ensuring a high-quality dining experience by preparing flavorful, well-executed meals that meet food safety standards and exceed customer expectations. Cooks play a crucial role in maintaining kitchen efficiency, consistency, and overall customer satisfaction.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
