Duties

Prepare a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, tarts, and other desserts, adhering strictly to established recipes and quality standards
Decorate cakes and pastries with precision, incorporating creative designs that enhance visual appeal
Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, pastry bags, and other baking tools safely and efficiently
Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure food safety and hygiene compliance at all times
Package baked goods for retail or catering purposes while ensuring product integrity during handling and transportation
Assist in food production processes by measuring ingredients accurately using basic math skills
Support food handling procedures to meet safety standards and minimize waste during high-volume production

Requirements

Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role within the food industry, restaurant, or catering environment
Strong skills in pastry preparation, baking techniques, cake decorating, and food presentation
Knowledge of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures
Ability to operate kitchen equipment efficiently and safely in a high-volume setting
Excellent knife skills and proficiency in food preparation tasks involving baked goods and desserts
Experience with packaging baked items for retail or catering purposes is preferred
Basic math skills for precise measurement of ingredients and recipe adherence
Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to work quickly under pressure
Customer service orientation with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
