Position Description: The Director of Admissions provides leadership for the Office of Admissions and is responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing recruitment and admissions strategies that support the College's enrollment goals. The Director oversees all aspects of the admissions process from prospective student inquiry through enrollment, ensuring a welcoming, student-centered experience while fostering operational excellence and compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations. Position Responsibilities: 30.00% - Oversee the functionality, administration, and continuous optimization of the College's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (Enrollment Rx). Develop and monitor communication workflows that effectively engage prospective students throughout the enrollment funnel. 40.00% - Provide leadership for the Office of Admissions in support of institutional enrollment goals and the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Plan. Develop, implement, and assess annual recruitment and admissions plans based on institutional priorities and enrollment targets. Direct all admissions operations from initial inquiry through enrollment. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate admissions staff while promoting professional growth and accountability. Lead and coordinate all recruitment activities, including on-campus and off-campus events, college fairs, high school visits, community outreach, campus tours, and enrollment events. Develop territory management strategies to maximize recruitment effectiveness and enrollment outcomes. Prepare, administer, and monitor the admissions department budget. 10.00% - Utilize enrollment data, demographic trend analysis, market research, and predictive analytics to develop recruitment strategies for traditional and nontraditional students. 10.00% - Ensure efficient and accurate processing of admissions applications and related documentation. Maintain compliance with Barton Community College policies, KACRAO standards, FERPA, federal and state regulations, and accreditation requirements. Serve as the Primary Designated School Official for international students. 5.00% - Serve on institutional committees supporting enrollment management and student success. Collaborate closely with Instruction, Communications and Public Relations, Financial Aid, Advising, Barton Online, Housing, Athletics, the Registrar, Institutional Research, and other campus departments to improve enrollment processes and student experiences. 5.00% - Performs other duties as needed or assigned. Expectations: To increase enrollment of students. To serve as liaison between Admissions Office and the Barton community both internally and externally. To direct and maintain supervised employees to ensure effectiveness and commitment to college plan. To adhere to college procedures, objectives, and budgetary responsibilities. To assist with college promotional activities in accordance with college plan and within budgetary guidelines. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience - Two years to five years of similar or related experience. Education - A Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. Interpersonal Skills - A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. Experience working in higher education admissions or related field.
A Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, excellent computer skills, strong organizational and leadership abilities, recorded success in college admissions, educational sales or service sales, and working knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to college recruitment and admissions.
Physical Requirements: The work requires minor physical exertion such as short periods of standing, walking over rough uneven surfaces, some recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities. Job may require recurring lifting of lightweight objects with infrequent bending or stooping alternating with the lighter activities. Job requires minimal agility and dexterity.
