Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Director to lead our behavioral health and addiction services. This pivotal role involves overseeing clinical operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and guiding a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive mental health, behavioral therapy, and addiction counseling. The ideal candidate will be passionate about improving lives through innovative treatment approaches, including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, and crisis management. As a Clinical Director, you will foster a collaborative environment that emphasizes clinical excellence, cultural competence, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and EMR/EHR standards.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise clinical staff across substance abuse counseling, behavioral therapy, case management, and specialized programs for neurodevelopmental and co-occurring disorders
Oversee patient assessments, diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, and documentation in accordance with medical terminology and ICD coding standards (ICD-9/10)
Ensure the delivery of evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, addiction counseling, and group therapy sessions
Manage clinical operations related to intake processes, patient care coordination, crisis intervention, and crisis management protocols
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while overseeing electronic health records (EHR) management and accurate medical records documentation
Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to team members to promote professional growth and ensure adherence to best practices in mental health and behavioral care

Qualifications

Master’s or doctoral degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field; licensure required (e.g., LCSW, LPC, Psychologist)
Extensive experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance-use disorders
Proven expertise in clinical supervision, team leadership, and program management within behavioral health settings
Strong knowledge of diagnostic evaluation techniques using ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical terminology
Skilled in motivational interviewing, social work practices, crisis intervention strategies, and mental health counseling techniques
Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds in community-based environments
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for patient documentation and data collection; familiarity with CPT coding for billing is preferred
Excellent communication skills for client engagement and family collaboration; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
