Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Meat Butcher, where your expertise in meat processing and food preparation will play a vital role in delivering high-quality products to our customers. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for expertly cutting, trimming, and preparing various meats, ensuring each product meets our strict standards for quality and safety. Your culinary skills and attention to detail will help create an exceptional shopping experience while maintaining food safety protocols and sanitation standards. Duties

Perform meat cutting, trimming, slicing, and portioning using specialized butchery tools and meat processing machines with precision and efficiency
Prepare a variety of meats including beef, pork, poultry, and fish, adhering to established recipes and culinary techniques
Operate meat processing equipment safely while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures
Package meats attractively for retail display, ensuring proper labeling and perishable goods management
Conduct visual inspections for quality control, checking for freshness, proper color, texture, and any signs of spoilage or contamination
Assist customers by providing knowledgeable service on meat cuts, cooking tips, and food handling best practices
Maintain accurate inventory levels through basic math skills, restocking displays as needed while managing waste responsibly

Experience

Previous experience in food production or food preparation within a retail store or restaurant environment is highly preferred
Hands-on experience with butchery techniques such as meat cutting, trimming (cutting method), slicing technique, and meat preparation is essential
Familiarity with food safety management practices including sanitizing procedures and visual quality inspections is required
Knowledge of food industry standards related to perishable goods management and food handling is necessary
Experience operating meat processing machines and knives safely with basic knife skills is advantageous
Retail store experience combined with excellent customer service skills will help you excel in this role
Culinary or kitchen experience involving fish handling or general food industry knowledge will be considered a plus
