POSITION OVERVIEW
The Food Safety & Quality Technician supports plant operations by monitoring food safety and quality systems, conducting inspections and verification activities, collecting and documenting data, and helping ensure compliance with company, customer, regulatory, and BRC requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound scientific and technical judgment, and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.

Your Work Schedule and Shift Information
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Currently hiring for: 8-hour
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays as needed
- Plant operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Follow all company safety rules and procedures
- Monitor GMPs in production and the warehouse for compliance and document findings on approved forms
- Perform calibrations of test and measuring equipment including scales, thermometers, moisture analyzers, and other tools, in a timely, safe, and professional manner; report results and issues to FSQ Quality Engineers
- Conduct incoming raw material inspections, verify and file Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and review other receiving documents in accordance with quality control procedures
- Inspect finished products and processing parameters to ensure compliance with customer specifications and manufacturing instructions
- Generate COAs as needed and send them to customers in a timely manner
- Conduct finished product label verification
- Notify production personnel of deviations in product quality and place product on hold when necessary
- Conduct pre-operational and post-operational inspections and collect samples for environmental monitoring, including air, water, drains, and equipment surfaces
- Verify Preventive Control Points daily and ensure food safety checks are completed as required
- Coordinate, schedule, and perform weekly pizza bake-offs and conduct texture analysis when required; measure, collect, and enter data into spreadsheets or business systems for trending
- Maintain appropriate records of testing, inspection results, and observations
- Maintain accurate records related to QA hold products, retention samples, foreign material incidents, non-conforming products, customer complaints, and pre-operational swabbing results
- Notify the FSQA Manager, Coordinator/Team Lead, Line Lead, and Plant Manager of unusual product observations to ensure potential quality issues are identified, reviewed, and resolved before product release
- Partner with operators, line leads, team leaders, maintenance, and the quality team to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues
- Manage line-specific programs, including line GMPs, MI audits, and other quality programs in accordance with quality control procedures
- Complete miscellaneous filing and clerical duties as needed by FSQ leadership
- Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- For business and safety reasons, must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in written English.
- One year of food manufacturing experience and at least one year of Quality Assurance experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively with both line-level employees and management
