Pope’s Pizza is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead daily restaurant operations, inspire teams, and drive guest satisfaction, profitability, and operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment and has a passion for developing teams, delivering exceptional service, and creating memorable guest experiences.

The General Manager will play a key role in upholding Pope’s Pizza’s standards for guest experience, food quality, cleanliness, operational execution, and team culture. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and proven experience in restaurant operations, labor management, food safety, team development, and building a positive, accountable workplace.

Core Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of daily restaurant operations at Pope’s Pizza
Lead, hire, train, coach, and develop management and hourly team members
Ensure exceptional guest service and consistent food quality standards
Oversee labor scheduling and proactively manage labor costs
Monitor food, beverage, and inventory costs; manage ordering and receiving processes
Enforce food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance
Ensure adherence to Pope’s Pizza operational standards and company policies
Oversee cash handling, deposits, and loss prevention procedures
Handle guest concerns and resolve service issues professionally and efficiently
Conduct performance evaluations, coaching conversations, and disciplinary actions
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and equipment standards throughout the restaurant
Complete required reports, schedules, inventories, and operational documentation
Support front-of-house and kitchen operations during peak business periods
Foster a positive, team-oriented workplace culture focused on accountability and hospitality

Required Qualifications

3+ years of experience as a General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or Hospitality Manager
Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, and labor management
Proven experience controlling food cost, labor cost, and inventory
Ability to lead teams, delegate effectively, and hold staff accountable
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment
Food safety certification (ServSafe or equivalent, or ability to obtain)
Responsible beverage service certification and applicable licensing (or ability to obtain)

Schedule & Availability

Full-time position
Nights, weekends, and holidays required based on business needs

Physical Requirements

Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours)
Lift up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
Bend, reach, twist, and lift overhead regularly
Work around kitchen equipment, heat, and cleaning chemicals
Communicate effectively in a loud restaurant environment

Work Environment

High-volume restaurant setting
Moderate to loud noise levels
Exposure to heat, fumes, and airborne particles
