Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Group Facilitator to lead engaging group therapy sessions and support individuals on their journey toward mental health and behavioral well-being. In this role, you will facilitate a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where clients can share experiences, develop coping strategies, and foster personal growth. Your expertise in evidence-based practices will help drive meaningful change for diverse populations, including those with co-occurring disorders, substance use challenges, and trauma histories. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of clients while working within a collaborative, supportive team dedicated to excellence in behavioral health care.

Responsibilities

Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing to promote recovery and resilience.
Conduct comprehensive client assessments to determine individual needs, treatment goals, and appropriate intervention strategies.
Develop tailored treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards and ensure accurate record-keeping within electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including social workers, clinicians, and case managers—to coordinate care for clients with complex mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
Provide crisis intervention when necessary, managing immediate safety concerns while adhering to crisis management protocols.
Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and ensure ethical handling of medical documentation.
Engage in ongoing research and data collection efforts to support evidence-based practice improvements and clinical outcomes.

Experience

Proven experience facilitating group therapy sessions within mental health or behavioral health settings.
Strong background in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral health interventions, and addiction counseling.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and with varied clinical presentations.
Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, PTSD care needs, or co-occurring disorders is highly desirable.
Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD coding systems, CPT coding for billing purposes, and clinical documentation standards is essential.
Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) or electronic medical records (EMR) management systems.
Excellent client communication skills coupled with the ability to perform comprehensive client assessments in accordance with DSM-5 criteria.
Prior experience in crisis management, intake procedures, case management, and working within hospital or community care environments is preferred.
