Referral Coordinator / Front Desk

Job Overview
HG Doctors, LLC, is continuing to expand our world-class medical and dental centers throughout the South Florida area. Our unique “One Stop Care” approach is changing the landscape of medical & dental practice. By offering Primary Care, Geriatrics, Podiatry, Behavioral Health and Dental all under one roof, along with a senior activity center, we are taking an innovative, industry leading approach to healthcare.

We are seeking a Referral Coordinator to join our expanding team in our Delray Beach location, Delray Medical & Dental. The Referral Coordinator will help to ensure that all patients are provided with high-quality treatment, diagnostic services, and be an intuitive professional whose managerial skills are only matched by their concern for our patients. The right candidate will have a passion for providing world-class medical care to patients and enjoys working closely with patients, and their families. The Referral Coordinator must also demonstrate the ability the operate independently and effectively collaborate with upper management, internal/external healthcare professionals and other staff.

Referral Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Answers telephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel regarding referral policies and procedures.
Assist patients at check-out and schedules future appointments.
Coordinates referrals for patients through insurance and other physician offices.
Ensures that all necessary records are forwarded to referral provider.
Inputs all authorization information into data base.
Obtains appropriate authorizations from insurance companies as needed.
Helps to maintain daily flow as directed by responding and tracking referrals on timely manner.
Maintains referral records and files documentation.
Works effectively as a member of a patient care team.
Completes other tasks as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Tasks must be performed with accuracy.
Proficiency in operating a computer, phone and electronic medical record.
Maintain patient, staff, and employer confidentiality all times.
Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Ability to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities.
Maintain a positive attitude and work demeanor.
Ability to work closely and collaboratively as a team.
Ability to complete all assigned tasks, projects, and duties under stressful situations.
Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.
ECW experience preferred.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Experience working in a team of healthcare professionals processing referrals and collaborating with them to ensure positive, effective patient experiences with our organization.
Responsible and trustworthy.
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, attention to detail, compassion, approachable, and patient.
Medical terminology knowledge.

Physical Demands:

Use of computer, keyboard, copy machine and phone.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma, GED, or a related discipline with related work experience in medical field or hospitality.
