Full Job Description

The Advanced Practice Provider IP/OP Specialty Care provides specialized care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings in collaboration with physician(s). The APP assesses patients, interprets diagnostic test/results, and develops and implements treatment plans to address the patient's unique needs in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Inpatient/Outpatient Specialty Care includes Cardiology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Oncology, Infectious Disease, Plastic Surgery, Pulmonary, Orthopedics, Pediatric Sub-Specialty, Adolescent Medicine, Urology, Ear, Nose& Throat, Physical Medicine and Rehab, and Obstetrics& Gynecology (ARMC and MC without L).Essential Job Function

Performs physical assessments of the patient, reviews their medical history, and interprets diagnostic tests/results in order to provide effective treatment for the patient.
Conducts preventive health screenings based on the patient's age, history, and unique needs to provide proactive health care.
Educates patients and their family about specialty care medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up.
Maintains record of all patient care in order to ensure accurate patient history.
Performs specialty care medical procedures in accordance with departmental guidelines and clinical roles as necessary within inpatient and outpatient care settings.
Identifies ways to improve inpatient and outpatient specialty care by assessing, problem-solving, and evaluating clinical and system issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Required: Master Degree Nursing or Master Degree Physician Assistant studies. Physician Assistant employed at Cone Health prior to October 14, 2024 with a Bachelor Degree will have the Master Degree requirement waived provided they have maintained employment and PA licensure with Board Certification.
