POSITION SUMMARY:
United Way of Greater Greensboro seeks a mission-driven Development Operations & Annual Giving Manager to lead development operations, annual giving execution, donor data strategy, and fundraising analytics in support of philanthropic growth and donor engagement. This role serves as the organization’s lead administrator for fundraising systems and digital giving platforms, ensuring strong data integrity, effective reporting, and operational excellence across Resource Development efforts.
The Manager works collaboratively across the organization to strengthen annual giving performance, support donor stewardship and retention, manage a limited portfolio of donor relationships, and translate data insights into effective fundraising strategies. The ideal candidate brings strong technical, analytical, and relationship-management skills, along with a commitment to community impact and mission-driven work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
CRM & Data Management
· Manage and optimize the Andar CRM database to support fundraising operations, including data quality, system performance, imports/exports, maintenance processes, security settings, rollover activities, and related technology enhancements.
· Serve as the primary liaison for database vendor support and internal teams regarding database functionality, troubleshooting, enhancements, reporting, and system improvements.
· Maintain data integrity, pledge accuracy, donor privacy compliance, and the delivery of donor lists, dashboards, segmentation, campaign tracking, and related analysis to support fundraising strategy.
Annual Giving & Donor Engagement
· Lead, coordinate and implement annual giving campaigns across multiple channels, including workplace giving, direct mail, email appeals, online fundraising, giving days, and year-end efforts, in collaboration with Resource Development staff.
· Develop donor segmentation, cultivation, stewardship, retention, and pipeline growth strategies to strengthen fundraising performance, donor engagement, and annual fund results across diverse donor communities.
· Develop donor-facing materials in collaboration with Marketing and Communications, including solicitation letters, acknowledgments, reports, updates, and related campaign communications.
Reporting & Analytics
· Provide reports, dashboards, analysis, and recommendations that evaluate campaign performance, fundraising outcomes, donor trends, and progress toward development goals, and present findings to leadership, fundraising staff, and board committees as appropriate.
· Research and resolve discrepancies in giving data, reports, and related donor records in collaboration with Finance and internal stakeholders.
· Partner with development leadership to establish annual fundraising strategies, goals, and key performance indicators and recommend data-informed approaches to improve donor acquisition, retention, participation, and revenue.
Portfolio Management
· Manage a limited portfolio of annual giving donors, leadership donors, lapsed donors, and corporate workplace giving contacts to support cultivation, stewardship, retention, outreach, and upgrade strategies using inclusive relationship-building practices.
· Document donor interactions, moves management activities, and upgrade opportunities in the CRM to support donor strategy and portfolio performance.
· Support achievement of annual fundraising goals through effective campaign execution, donor engagement, portfolio management, and data-driven decision making.
Digital Fundraising & Engagement
· Develop, manage, and optimize online fundraising platforms and digital giving tools, including CRM applications (including but not limited to donor stewardship, workplace campaigns, and events), Square, GiveSmart, and related systems, while supporting digital campaign setup, platform enhancements, and online donor experiences.
· Support internal staff and external users of fundraising platforms by providing troubleshooting, guidance, and donor communications coordination to strengthen digital fundraising efforts.
Training & Documentation
· Support staff use of CRM, fundraising systems, reporting tools, and related technologies by maintaining training resources, documenting workflows and protocols, and promoting consistent best practices.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Proficiency with CRM/database systems (preferably Andar), including data integrity, imports/exports, reporting, dashboards, user support, and strategic use of donor data to inform fundraising decisions.
· Experience with annual giving, workplace campaigns, digital fundraising platforms, donor engagement strategies, and relationship portfolio management, including moves management, segmentation, stewardship, and donor retention across a multi-year donor lifecycle.
· Strong analytical, project management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to interpret fundraising metrics, translate insights into action, and manage multiple deadlines independently.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills, including drafting donor-facing communications, collaborating on fundraising messaging, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
· Familiarity with fundraising practices, including major gift and planned giving, and experience engaging diverse donor communities through culturally competent and inclusive relationship-building approaches.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
· 5+ years of nonprofit fundraising, development operations, database administration, donor relations, or related experience, including demonstrated success managing CRM systems (preferably Andar or similar donor management platforms) and online fundraising or digital donor engagement tools.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and reporting tools preferred.
