Full Job Description

Founding BCBA – Part-Time/Contract with Growth Opportunity

New Reverse Inclusion ABA Program | Childcare-Based Setting | North Carolina

Compensation: $75 per hour, based on experience
Initial Schedule: Approximately 5–15 hours per week, increasing with client enrollment
Growth Opportunity: Potential transition to full-time Lead BCBA/Clinical Director

Help Build Something Different

We are seeking a passionate and entrepreneurial Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join the founding clinical team of a new ABA program operating within a licensed childcare center.

This is not a traditional clinic model.

Our program is being developed around a reverse inclusion approach, creating intentional opportunities for children receiving ABA services to learn, play, communicate, and practice skills within a natural early childhood environment alongside typically developing peers.

Our first location will intentionally remain small, with ABA enrollment capped at a maximum of 20 clients at this location.

Because this is a new program, the BCBA position will initially begin on a part-time/contract basis, with hours increasing as Medicaid credentialing is completed and client enrollment grows.

This is an excellent opportunity for a BCBA who wants to get involved at the beginning of a program and potentially grow into a larger clinical leadership position.

Our founding BCBA won't simply inherit someone else's program.

You'll help us build it.

What You'll Help Build

The Founding BCBA will have opportunities to:

Help establish clinical systems and workflows
Conduct assessments and reassessments
Develop individualized ABA treatment plans
Establish data collection and clinical documentation processes
Develop behavior intervention plans when clinically appropriate
Provide caregiver training
Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor RBTs
Establish RBT competency and supervision processes
Collaborate with early childhood educators and other developmental professionals
Help develop meaningful reverse inclusion opportunities
Maintain ethical and clinically appropriate boundaries between ABA and childcare services
Help establish quality-assurance standards
Support Medicaid authorization and clinical documentation requirements
Help shape the culture and future direction of the ABA program

Medicaid Requirement

Because our program will serve children receiving North Carolina Medicaid-funded ABA services, candidates must be able to meet all applicable Medicaid and payer credentialing requirements.

The selected BCBA must:

Hold active BCBA certification in good standing
Meet applicable North Carolina requirements to practice ABA
Be eligible for enrollment, credentialing, and/or affiliation with applicable North Carolina Medicaid programs and managed care plans
Complete required provider enrollment, credentialing, contracting, and documentation processes
Maintain all credentials required to provide and supervise Medicaid-funded ABA services

As enrollment grows, there may be an opportunity to transition into a full-time Lead BCBA/Clinical Director position and participate in future program expansion.

Qualifications

Required:

Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing
Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Special Education, or related field
Meets applicable North Carolina requirements for ABA practice
Medicaid credentialing eligibility
Experience developing ABA treatment plans
Experience conducting assessments and analyzing clinical data
Experience supervising RBTs
Knowledge of BACB ethical requirements
Strong communication, leadership, and documentation skills

Preferred:

Already enrolled/credentialed with North Carolina Medicaid and applicable managed care plans
Early intervention or preschool experience
Experience working with children with autism and developmental disabilities
Naturalistic, play-based, or early childhood ABA experience
Experience collaborating with educators, SLPs, OTs, PTs, or other developmental professionals
Experience helping develop or launch an ABA program

Position Structure

This position will begin at approximately 5–15 hours per week during program development and initial enrollment.

Hours are expected to increase as the client census and clinical needs increase.

For the right candidate, this position may develop into a full-time Lead BCBA/Clinical Director opportunity as the program grows.
