Corporate and Community Engagement Coordinator
Full-time | Exempt | Hybrid (Greenville, South Carolina)
Compensation Range: $40,000 to $45,000
Reports To: Director of Corporate and Community Engagement
About the Role: Support corporate partnerships, cause marketing campaigns, community fundraising initiatives, and external fundraising events throughout South Carolina while helping grow awareness and revenue for Make-A-Wish South Carolina through strong stewardship, project management, and execution.
What You’ll Do
Corporate and Community Engagement Initiatives:
- Supports the execution of corporate partnerships, cause marketing campaigns, and community fundraising initiatives led by the Director of Corporate and Community Engagement, while independently managing assigned partnerships as appropriate.
- Executes assigned national corporate partnerships and campaigns at the local level in partnership with the Director of Corporate and Community Engagement.
- Serves as the staff lead for external fundraising events throughout South Carolina, providing guidance and support to volunteer event committees and community fundraising organizers.
- Meets face-to-face with potential fundraising partners, community volunteers, and other constituency groups to guide them in the development and execution of fundraising initiatives and provides varying levels of support as appropriate.
- Executes the Upstate Youth Leadership Council by recruiting, training, and supporting student leaders in their fundraising activities.
- Supports peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives throughout the Upstate region, including Student Wishmakers and Chi Omega partnerships.
- Supports internal events and auctions through procurement, donor cultivation, solicitation, coordination, and stewardship.
- Represents Make-A-Wish South Carolina at fundraising events, community meetings, networking functions, and speaking engagements.
- Creates meaningful stewardship opportunities including wish celebrations, check presentations, volunteer opportunities, and wish ambassador experiences.
- Partners with the Mission Delivery team to coordinate wish celebrations with community and corporate partners.
Other Development Responsibilities:
- Works closely with key development staff on all forms of donor stewardship.
- Maintains accurate donor, partner, and fundraising activity records within CRM and ensures timely documentation of stewardship activities.
- Assists the Chief Development Officer and Director of Corporate and Community Engagement with annual revenue forecasting, budgeting, and reporting for assigned fundraising initiatives.
- Assists the Chief Development Officer with support for the Upstate WISH Society, including securing partnerships for networking socials and coaching honorees to execute successful community fundraisers with high ROI and impact.
- Coordinates with the Marketing and Communications Manager to produce campaign messaging and marketing/PR materials as needed.
- Assists with recruitment, onboarding, and supervision of Mission Advancement interns.
- Supports in-kind donation solicitations for wishes, events, and other projects.
- Serves as backup support for donation processing as needed.
- Utilizes Make-A-Wish America resources and best practices to strengthen fundraising efforts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- One to three years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, event management, corporate partnerships, sales, marketing, customer service, or a related field preferred.
- Experience coordinating projects, events, or volunteer initiatives is a plus.
- Passion for the mission of Make-A-Wish South Carolina and a commitment to providing exceptional experiences for donors, volunteers, and community partners.
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage professionally with corporate partners, donors, volunteers, board members, and community leaders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple fundraising initiatives simultaneously.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, flexibility, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with CRM/database management systems, preferably Salesforce, is preferred.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel throughout South Carolina to support fundraising events, partner meetings, and organizational activities.
Work Environment
Hybrid environment with time allocated between home office, local office, offsite meetings, fundraising events, and regional partner activities.
Schedule may be adjusted in response to work or personal needs as appropriate.
Position Type and expected hours of work
Full time with flexible schedule.
Travel
Regional travel throughout South Carolina is required as is travel to the headquarters.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
One to three years of related work experience preferred.
