Position Summary

As a Video Surveillance and Door Access Installation/Support Technician at Teleco, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of video surveillance and door access systems for our clients. Your work will help create secure environments through reliable security solutions while adhering to industry standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain video surveillance and door access systems, ensuring all components are correctly integrated and functioning properly.
Conduct system inspections and assessments to identify and resolve technical issues affecting equipment and infrastructure.
Collaborate with clients, project managers, and team members to develop comprehensive installation plans, considering site layouts, camera placements, door access components, wiring requirements, and equipment needs.
Perform thorough testing of video surveillance and door access equipment to ensure optimal performance, image quality, and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, power, or networking issues during installation or maintenance.
Provide training and technical support to clients and end-users on operating and maintaining video surveillance and door access systems.
Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to video surveillance and access control systems.
Assist with other tasks or projects as needed to support Teleco's objectives.

Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Understanding of video surveillance and door access technology, including camera types and their functionalities.
Familiarity with IP addressing, LAN, and WAN networking.
A+ and/or Network+ certifications preferred but not required.
Knowledge of ANSI, TIA, EIA, and BICSI cabling standards.
BICSI, Lift, and OSHA certifications preferred but not required.
Proficiency with installation tools such as drills, cable testers, crimpers, and basic hand tools.
Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues.
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard business software.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
Availability for occasional travel.
Valid U.S. driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

Schedule

Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. While most work is completed during a standard eight-hour workday, project demands may occasionally require adjusted hours, after-hours work, and participation in an on-call rotation to support client needs.
