The Pharmacy Business Innovation consultant is responsible for the implementation and management of a comprehensive risk management, innovation, development and quality assurance programs for Pharmacy Business Innovation within the Yale New Haven Health System. The consultant will ensure that the highest of quality standards are in place coupled with regulatory requirements. In collaboration with pharmacy leadership will be responsible for developing a robust market surveillance monitoring and surveillance program, analysis of innovation strategies and associated contracts and facilitation of key strategic imperatives to ensure necessary measures are considered for strategic planning and execution to support the Pharmacy Enterprise. Additionally support of leadership development and association leadership engagement strategies and action preventive action plans are handled properly. His/her reference are the U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP) regulatory standards, YNHHS policies, The Joint Commission accreditation standards (TJC), American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists, the FDA, 340B, CT DPH and DCP and state and federal regulations as applicable

Responsibilities:
1. Program Management: Coordinates activity closely with the project sponsor and the full project team to ensure strategic goals are achieved. Ensures that the clinical/operations community is appropriately engaged in their project activities to optimize design, test and support. Coordinates all related milestone attainment and pertinent needs. Provides and updates project plans to ensure project status is communicated to stakeholders
2. Communication: Interacts and interfaces closely with the departmental leadership and project sponsors. Communicates timely and effectively with pertinent systems stakeholders. Identifies strategies and /or technology to improve communication and status of the project. Positively promotes the benefits of the system, motivates end user and others, and serves as an effective liaison between the project and leadership. Understands the importance of confidentiality and measures communication as appropriate.
3. Teamwork: Works as an effective member of the overall project leadership team facilitating open communication and issue resolution. Establishes positive relationships with clinical/operational leadership directly and through established project structures and facilitates open communication and direction setting. Promotes a team atmosphere encouraging team member input and optimizing group productivity. Demonstrates strong relationship management skills with the end user community and provides a model for others to follow. Establishes and coordinates structured communication process to ensure all team members are aware of progress and or short falls of project. Willingness to subordinate individual goals for team goals as an effective member of the overall project leadership team facilitating open communication and issue resolution.
4. Risk Mitigation and Business Innovation: Reviews associated regulatory/legislative, market landscape/forecast and business forecast to anticipate change and forge strategis that support business development and innovation to ensure System viability. Provide insight as appropriate on contracts, RFP, process and practice improvements. Faciliate change and bring forward innovative recommendation to ensure risk is mitigation and sustainability is attained
5. Leadership Development: Create leadership development tools and programs to support leadership growth. Enhance leadership engagement strategies to include proactive support and craft necessary supporting documents for reference, serve as a leadership coach and deliver/advice as appropriate
Qualifications:
EDUCATION
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) or BS Pharmacy with advanced Master's Degree preferred
EXPERIENCE
3-5 years of experience in large-scale/high volume/high demand hospital/system
LICENSURE
Licensed Pharmacist in CT or eligible or Certification/Degree in Compliance and Business Related Affairs
SPECIAL SKILLS
Expertise in compliance standards and regulations promulgated by the relevant agencies: DPH, DCP, TJC, CMS, FDA, USP, 340B and other relevant regulatory bodies
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time
