Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Operations Manager to lead our team and oversee daily business operations across multiple departments. This pivotal role involves managing staff, streamlining processes, and ensuring exceptional customer service to drive overall performance. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-paced environment committed to growth and excellence.

Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain a culture focused on employee safety.

· Conduct and/or support training as appropriate with employees on OSHA and other appropriate safety-related topics. Ensures compliance with OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory standards.

· Coordinate with EHS group for compliance with environmental regulations, permitting and reporting requirements, including WWT facility and solidification site.

· Tracks and communicates to Director of Operations achievement to monthly and annual safety metrics. Participates in safety committee activities.

· Oversight of crew scheduling and dispatching to meet customer/project requirements

· Manage drivers and related personnel to ensure compliance with DOT Hours of Service, training and other associated requirements.

· Assist in visiting prospective job sites to evaluate scope of work, personnel and supplies needed to perform projects.

· Ability to prepare proposals for smaller projects and to work with Project Managers to prepare proposals on projects.

· Manage hazardous material and chemical inventory programs for clients following Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), OSHA, and other state & federal government agencies’ regulations.

· Understands waste profiling process and procedures related to hazardous and non-hazardous waste management activities at company-owned and third-party outlets.

· Oversees 10-Day Transfer Operation & daily inspection of hazardous wastes.

· Oversees inventory control and management of on-site non-hazardous containerized and bulk wastes.

· Routes hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials to appropriate landfill, treatment facility, recycling operation or packaging destination as required.

· Comprehend principles of working with chemicals and hazardous materials and how to make specific mixtures at exact concentrations for wastewater treatment system.

· Assist in developing business unit(s) budget and annual operating plan in conjunction with senior management team.

· Review monthly P&L for performance variances in margins and ability to analyze cost control measures to contribute to operational efficiencies.

· Communication and reporting to Director of Operations for bi-weekly management meetings, monthly board meetings to outline job status, performance, and corrective actions. Ensures internal understanding of job requirements by location and project type.

· Formulates, develops, implements and measures business goals and objectives.

· Meets with customers to ensure customer satisfaction and to resolve pending complaints/issues.

· Assists with the management of 24/7 emergency response calls.

· Ensures project/job schedules are met and within budget.

· Writes/conducts employee performance appraisals with HR as well as implements and maintains on the job training.

· Works with HR on merit increases, promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations of field service personnel.

· Other functions as assigned by Director of Operations and/or senior management

Skills

· Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in Business, Engineering, Chemistry or similar discipline.

· 5-10 years of management experience in environmental field service operations management, waste management services operation or similar service business experience.

· Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

· P&L/Budget management experience highly preferred.

· Strong communication skills with ability to speak in front of large groups of people.

· Ability to effectively interact with hourly field services personnel, administrative office staff and management team.

· Ability to effectively coach staff and execute organizational development programs.
