Position Summary

The Onsite Property Management Bookkeeper is responsible for processing rent payments, maintaining tenant and owner accounting records, and preparing owner disbursements. This position works closely with our property management and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

Collect and process rent checks and other resident payments.
Post rent payments, charges, and account adjustments.
Process monthly owner disbursements.
Maintain accurate tenant and owner ledgers.
Reconcile deposits and daily cash activity.
Assist with trust accounting and bank reconciliations.
Resolve accounting discrepancies and payment issues.
Support month-end accounting processes.
Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
Communicate professionally with owners, residents, and internal team members.
Follow company accounting policies and internal controls.

Qualifications

Required

2+ years of bookkeeping or property management accounting experience.
Experience with Buildium and/or MRI property management software.
Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills.
High attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work onsite in Greenville, SC.

Preferred

Property management accounting experience.
Trust accounting experience.
Experience processing owner distributions.
Single-family rental experience.
