EVS (Housekeeper)

POSITION SUMMARY
Completes housekeeping and light maintenance work to maintain general cleanliness and repair of facility including; client rooms, living areas, group rooms, bathrooms, offices, administrative areas, common areas, grounds, and all other areas inside and immediately outside of the facility following established standards and procedures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of training program in the housekeeping field preferred. 1 year of housekeeping experience in a large facility or a number of smaller facilities. Experience working in an area with a vulnerable population and sensitive materials or records. Medical cleaning experience is a plus. Must have the capacity to be continually, physically active (up to eight hours a day) and to do heavy work - - pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 75 pounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Housekeeping
- Consistently ensures all areas of the facility are clean and orderly according to written policy and procedures and partners to establish standards, work methods, and schedules for housekeeping, maintenance, laundry services, and other related activities.
- Performs regular inspections of clients’ rooms, offices, common areas, storage, utility/janitorial closets, etc. for upkeep, and sanitation.
- Medical grade cleaning in bathrooms, exam rooms, medication storage areas, and other areas determined by management.
- Participates in inventorying, ordering, and stocking adequate supplies.
- Partners to ensure a safe, secure, private, and comfortable treatment and work environment.
- Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and a list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prioritize work assignments.
- Advises Wellness Dept or Admitting personnel of rooms ready for occupancy.
- Effectively coordinates change, repair, housekeeping, and activities, with affected personnel.
- Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping-related concerns and takes corrective action.
- Communicates effectively using housekeeping log or verbal communication on immediate cleaning needs or situations.
- Examines rooms, furnishings, and overall building to determine the need for minor repairs or replacement of furnishings, tools, or equipment, and makes recommendations to management.
- Partners with other staff on larger housekeeping projects.
