Since opening in early February 2026, Ajisai Sushi & Steak has been pround to grow and serve the Beaverton community! Our restaurant brings together fresh sushi, premium steaks, and the excitement of Teppanyaki-style cooking - where the grill becomes the stage and the chef is the star.

Ajisai is part of a family of successful Sushi & Steak restaurants, known for quality ingredients, creative dishes, and great service. Our new location will continue this tradition, offering guests a fun and flavorful dining experience.

We’re now hiring Teppan Chefs, Sushi Chefs and other positions! If you love cooking, and enjoy performing and engaging with guests at the table - we want you on our team! Join us and bring the heat to the grill at Ajisai Sushi & Steak!

We’re seeking passionate, reliable, and experienced team members to join us in delivering outstanding dining experiences to our guests.

Open Positions and Brief Position-Specific Responsibilities

Teppan Chef

Prepare meats, seafood, vegetables, and rice with strong knife and grill skills.
Create a fun, interactive dining experience.
Maintain consistent portioning, seasoning, and presentation.
Follow health standards and keep the grill/workstation clean.
Coordinate with staff and follow all restaurant procedures.

Sushi Chef

Prepare sushi rice and craft nigiri, maki, sashimi, and specialty rolls.
Fillet, slice, and inspect freshness of fish and ingredients.
Maintain sushi station, cleanliness, proper storage, and inventory.
Assist with menu ideation and accommodate dietary restrictions.

Line Cook

Execute dishes across the menu, grills, sides, garnishes with precision and speed.
Ensure consistent flavor, portion control, and plating standards.
Coordinate with sushi station to ensure timely delivery.

Prep Cook

Prep ingredients: chop vegetables, portion meats, prepare sauces.
Support higher-level cooks.
Maintain ingredient freshness, labelling, and rotate stocks.

Server

Greet, seat, and guide guests through the menu and dining experience.
Recommend dishes and beverages, upselling when appropriate.
Take orders accurately, serve food promptly, and manage the check-out process.
Handle special requests, answer dining-related questions, and resolve issues.

Host/Hostess

Welcome guests with warmth and professionalism.
Manage waitlists, reservations, and seating logistics.
Maintain a clean front-of-house, prepare tables, support servers.

Bartender

Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Recommend drink pairings and upsell premium options.
Maintain bar inventory and cleanliness.
Process payments and check IDs as required.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or above
Prior restaurant or kitchen experience preferred
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and teamwork
Passion for food, hospitality, and customer service
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
