Full Job Description

Kangaroo Care is seeking an experienced, dependable, and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a 11 year old in SE Portland looking for part time help for up to 22 hours a week. Schedule is Flexible. He will need help with ADL's, toileting, administering meds, and working on emotional regulation. Looking for DSP who loves drums or musical instruments and has experience with non verbal children. There is no smoking and two dogs and 4 cats in the home.

Schedule:

Flexible Schedule
Up to 22 hours per week

Candidate Must have-

Communication skills requiring patience and understanding
Ability to provide occasional assistance with daily tasks

As a Kangaroo Caregiver, you will provide in home assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s) to support and maximize our client’s quality of life. Kangaroo Care delivers the training and resources to give our caregivers top-quality skills in a meaningful work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Help plan and assist in preparing some meals, including serving, if necessary
Assist with dressing, grooming
Assist in daily living activities and needs
Participate in life enriching activities
A caregiver may assist with medication reminders
Complete required shift notes and scheduling via our caregiver app
Maintain client confidentiality
Record and report changes in client’s physical condition, behavior, or appearance

Pay: $23.00 per hour
