Cook

The Cook is a dynamic part of the Dining Services team that ensures the highest quality food service experience for residents by working in tandem with leadership and other dietary team members.

Qualified Cooks should be motivated team-players who are passionate about working with seniors in an environment of Respect and Joy! Bring your customer service excellence and join the Rivers of Grosse Pointe Woods to become part of our passionate and innovative Dining Services team! Our Mission is to be a premier health and rehabilitation center by exceeding the expectations of our Residents, Families of Residents, and Employees.

Responsibilities:

Ensure that meals provided are nutritious, well-prepared, and pleasing in a timely and consistent manner while adhering to menus, diet orders and special requests.
Follow recipes, controls, portions, and presentation specifications as set by the Dietary Manager.
Track and report any food waste.
Must handle, store and rotate all products properly.
Meet Company policies and state and federal regulation regarding sanitation and safe

food handling techniques.

One year experience as a cook in an institutional food service setting preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in food service highly preferred; Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred
Must possess outstanding communication skills and be able to follow oral and written instructions
