Full Job Description

Administrative Assistant – Benefits, Payroll & Personnel

Brian House is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to work in Chester, CT.

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with experience in benefits administration, redeterminations, payroll, and personnel functions. The successful candidate will provide administrative support while maintaining confidential employee and client records and managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Prior relevant experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with benefits applications, renewals, and redeterminations.

Maintain accurate and confidential benefits, personnel, and employee records.

Assist with payroll processing, including timesheets, attendance, deductions, and employee changes.

Assist with personnel changes including new hires, terminations, pay changes, and status changes.

Assist with onboarding, offboarding, leave documentation, and personnel paperwork.

Respond to employee questions regarding benefits, payroll, timekeeping, and deductions.

Maintain accurate data in databases and administrative systems.

Prepare correspondence, forms, reports, and other administrative documents.

Communicate professionally with employees, managers, administration, and individuals supported by Brian House.

Perform general administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous administrative, payroll, HR/personnel, or benefits experience required.

Experience with benefits, eligibility redeterminations, payroll, and personnel administration required.

Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and time-management skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, QuickBooks, email, and data entry.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience with Medicaid, SNAP, Medicare, insurance benefits, public assistance programs, eligibility programs, payroll systems, or employee administration systems is highly desirable.
