Looking for a stable, long-term position with an industry leader?

American Laboratory Trading LLC (ALT), the leading reseller of premium refurbished lab equipment in North America, is currently looking for an Entry Level Service Technician for an immediate opening to expand our service department operations in East Lyme, CT office. If you're interested in a challenging career with a growing company, ALT is looking for you. Successful candidates must demonstrate basic technical knowledge with excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn about a variety of instruments ALT has to offer.

We're specifically looking for candidates who can service & repair basic, entry level lab equipment with a desire to learn how to service more intricate equipment. Example equipment categories include:

· Centrifuges

· Balances & Scales

· Incubators & Ovens

· Clean Benches and Hoods

· Water baths, Hotplates, and Stirrers

· Microplate Readers & Washers

· Spectrophotometers

· PCR/Real-Time PCR Systems

· Gas and Liquid Chromatography Systems (GC & HPLC)

Responsibilities

· Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is running efficiently.

· Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues and implement effective solutions.

· Willingness and desire to learn how to support additional product categories that ALT offers to customers

· Experience with maintenance and support of multiple vendor instruments.

· Ensure that quality system procedures and Health & Safety standards are always adhered to.

Minimum Qualifications

· Highschool Diploma or GED (Required)

· Associate’s degree or Technical Certification in relevant field (Preferred)

· Field Examples: Electrical, Electrical Technology, HVAC, or any other technical discipline

· Completion of an accredited technical or vocational program (Preferred)

· Demonstrated ability to handle both routine maintenance and emergency repairs on systems and equipment

· Proven Track record of successful troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues

· Previous experience with customer service or direct interaction with clients is highly preferred

Technical Skills

· Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

· Familiarity with preventative maintenance procedures

Soft Skills

· Problem Solving and the ability to troubleshoot instrument issues

· Time Management and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize

· Attention to Detail ensuring work that is performed holds a high standard of quality

· Teamwork and the ability to work well with others to achieve a common goal
