Utilities – Electric Division
The City of Groton and Groton Utilities is seeking a Journeyperson Lineperson.
The Journeyperson Lineperson, under the direct supervision of the Electric Operations General Foreman, is responsible for performing work expected of a fully qualified line mechanic and directing crew(s) in the absence of a Leader Lineperson. The position maintains, operates, and constructs all overhead and underground distribution and transmission circuits while promoting good harmony and communications among employees and the public. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, possess strong electrical theory knowledge and mechanical aptitude, and have successfully completed an approved apprenticeship lineperson course with a minimum of four (4) years of lineperson experience. Candidates must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) as a condition of employment and be able to safely operate utility vehicles and equipment.
