Full Job Description

SUMMARY Of POSITION: Under the general supervision of the Sr. Community Center Director this position will require operation of a 12-passenger van for the purpose of transporting aging residents to and from the Sr. Community Center for programs. Hours fall Monday-Friday between 10-1:30. Hourly rate of $20

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Provide door to door transportation to aging residents of Charlestown to/from Sr. Community Center.

· Assist aging passengers in boarding and exiting in a safe manner

· Complete safety checks prior to departing and returning

· Operating in a patient and courteous manner

· Operating lift

· Maintaining vehicle cleanliness

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisory responsibilities assigned to this position.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Completion of high school or equivalency; experience transporting or working with the aging population preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Chauffer’s License to operate 12 passenger van

· BCI

· Safe driving record

· This position is subject to possible unannounced random drug and alcohol testing during employment

Specific vision abilities required for this position include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
