Seasonal Maintenance Technician

Position Summary — The Seasonal Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the organization's outdoor grounds. This position performs routine lawn maintenance, landscaping, and general groundskeeping duties to ensure all exterior areas remain attractive and well-maintained throughout the growing season.
Essential Functions — An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Performs and completes all jobs assigned in a professional manner

Maintains appearance of the facility inside and out which includes mowing, weed eating/killing.

Cleans up after each job and puts tools and equipment in their place

Maintains a high level of cleanliness and appearance at all times

Develop and maintain a friendly, courteous rapport with customers and staff

Has the ability to work with others to complete special projects or task.

Works on tasks assigned daily, weekly, routinely or as assigned

Mow, trim, and edge lawns using commercial lawn maintenance equipment.

Operate string trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, and other landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.

Maintain flower beds, shrubs, trees, and landscaped areas by watering, weeding, pruning, and mulching as needed.

Pick up litter and debris from parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, and landscaped areas.

Remove leaves, grass clippings, and other yard waste.

Assist with planting seasonal flowers, shrubs, and other landscaping projects.

Inspect grounds for safety hazards and report maintenance concerns to the supervisor.

Perform minor repairs to fences, signs, irrigation components, or other outdoor fixtures as assigned.

Clean and maintain lawn equipment and tools, reporting equipment issues promptly.

Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Assist with other maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D., lawn care, and general construction laborer experience required. Including use of hand tools, construction equipment, and lawn care equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret plans, instructions and specifications while laying out work areas where construction work will be performed.

Understanding the operation and maintenance of various systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting within the Casino.

Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations to maintain a secure environment for employees and patrons.

Skilled in using various tools, equipment, and technologies relevant to maintenance work.

Ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions in a timely manner.

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
-
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Other Requirements — Required to obtain and maintain a Seneca Cayuga tribal gaming license and a state issued I.D. All applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening prior to beginning employment. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements — Possess the physical stamina and capability to perform various tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.), standing for extended periods, and engaging in physically demanding activities to ensure the effective upkeep of the facility. Must be able to reach, push and pull with hands and arms, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Work Environment — Grand Lake Casino is a drug and alcohol-free workplace; Must be able to work in a casino environment which includes high levels of smoke, dust, noise, bright flashing lights.
Special Working Conditions — Working conditions include maintaining both interior and exterior areas of the Casino, necessitating adaptability to outdoor working conditions, including exposure to varying weather elements, as part of the comprehensive efforts to ensure the facility's overall upkeep.
