SUMMARY:
As the CNC Operator you will perform basic set-ups, monitor progress, and recognize malfunctions on the computer numerical controlled machines. You will be using a variety of gauges and measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, vices, and fixtures to perform initial inspection and ensure the parts being manufactured to specifications. In this role you will receive extensive training and have an opportunity to enhance your career with a growing company.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform basic setup and operation of CNC machinery.
- Ensure raw materials are properly secured in vices or fixtures to get consistent results.
- Interpret drawings, bill of materials, and work instructions in a metal machining environment.
- Perform basic math calculations such as conversion from fraction to decimal and feeds, speeds and related formulae.
- Properly use indicators, micrometers, calipers and other standard measurement tools.
- Additional duties as assigned by operations management.
MEASUREMENT AND PERFORMANCE:
The primary goal for this position is to consistently and effectively operate our CNC machines to ensure the manufacturing team provides on-time delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years or work experience in a metal machining environment.
- Must have strong attention to detail and be able follow multi-step instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively and be able to work well in a team environment.
- Must have a strong work ethic, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- High School Diploma
