Summary
Pacific Islands Club (PIC) is seeking a skilled and dependable Network Technician to join our Information Technology team. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting the resort's network infrastructure, servers, computer systems, and telecommunications equipment. The Network Technician ensures the reliability, security, and performance of the organization's technology environment while providing timely technical support to employees across the resort.
Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. Reliable and consistent attendance is required to support resort operations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), wireless networks, internet connectivity, and related infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and support network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and network appliances.
- Monitor network performance, security, and availability to ensure reliable operations.
- Diagnose and resolve network, hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and authentication through Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft 365.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
- Deploy operating system updates, security patches, antivirus software, and business applications.
- Manage and verify daily system backups and assist with disaster recovery procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for hardware, software licenses, network equipment, and IT assets.
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured network cabling, including Cat6 cabling and patch panels.
- Document network configurations, system changes, and technical procedures.
- Provide technical support and training to employees on hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Assist with evaluating, testing, and implementing new technologies and infrastructure improvements.
- Participate in on-call support and respond to technology emergencies when required.
- Maintain current knowledge of networking technologies, cybersecurity best practices, and industry standards.
- Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of PIC property by properly disposing of litter or debris when observed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications, Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree, technical certification, or vocational training in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in network support, IT infrastructure, or desktop support preferred.
- Experience in a hospitality or resort environment is a plus.
- Equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and relevant experience will be considered.
Preferred Certifications
One or more of the following certifications are preferred:
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Microsoft Certified credentials
- Other networking or cybersecurity certifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, and wireless networking.
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Exchange administration.
- Familiarity with firewalls, endpoint protection, backup systems, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
- Experience installing and maintaining structured network cabling.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Physical Requirements

- Frequently sits, stands, walks, bends, reaches, and uses hands to install, repair, and configure equipment.
- Regularly operates computers, testing equipment, and hand tools.
- Occasionally lifts and moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to climb ladders, work above ceilings, access rooftops, and enter equipment rooms when installing or repairing network infrastructure.
- Must be able to install and terminate network cabling in confined spaces.
- Requires close vision, depth perception, and the ability to identify wiring, connectors, and equipment labels.
Work Environment
This position works in both office and operational environments throughout the resort. Duties may require working in equipment rooms, guest areas, ceilings, rooftops, and outdoor locations while installing or maintaining network infrastructure. The employee may occasionally be exposed to heat, humidity, dust, and electrical equipment. The noise level is generally moderate.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when performing installation and maintenance work.
A valid driver's license is required.
