Electrical Apprentice – Gulf Shores Airport Project

Ethos Electrical Solutions is seeking a dependable and motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our team on the Gulf Shores Airport project.
Ethos is a Pensacola-based electrical contractor with experience completing demanding commercial, aviation, government, and military projects. We have built our reputation through quality workmanship, professional jobsite performance, and our ability to successfully complete complex electrical installations.
This position is intended for someone who wants to build a long-term career in the electrical trade. Previous electrical experience is helpful, but we place a strong value on reliability, common sense, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and the willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist electricians with commercial electrical installations.
- Install conduit, supports, boxes, wiring, lighting, devices, and equipment under supervision.
- Learn to read electrical drawings, specifications, and installation details.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and construction equipment.
- Maintain an organized work area and protect completed installations.
- Follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ask questions when information or instructions are unclear.
- Identify potential problems and communicate them before proceeding.
- Follow all Ethos and project-specific safety requirements.
- Report to work on time and prepared for the workday.
Requirements
- Must live within commuting distance of Gulf Shores or be willing and able to travel to the project.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be dependable and maintain consistent attendance.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Must be willing to learn commercial electrical construction.
- Must be able to work safely in an active construction environment.
- Must be able to work from ladders and lifts.
- Must be able to perform the physical duties associated with electrical construction.
- Previous construction or electrical experience is preferred but not required.
- Must meet all company and project onboarding requirements.
Our Hiring Process
Ethos uses a structured hiring process to identify candidates who possess the reliability, problem-solving ability, mechanical aptitude, and hands-on competency required to succeed on our projects.
Applicants selected to move forward will complete:
- A brief introductory phone call.
- A pre-interview questionnaire.
- An in-person interview, aptitude assessment, and hands-on competency evaluation.
During the in-person interview, we will:
- Review the candidate’s résumé and previous work experience.
- Conduct and review an aptitude and problem-solving assessment.
- Discuss the candidate’s approach to jobsite situations, safety, and problem-solving.
- Ask the candidate to demonstrate hands-on competency appropriate to an apprentice position.
Candidates should expect the in-person interview and evaluation process to take approximately 2.5 hours.
The apprentice evaluation focuses on mechanical aptitude, the ability to follow instructions, basic tool knowledge, safe work practices, and problem-solving potential. Previous electrical knowledge is helpful but is not the only factor considered.
