Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Record Keeping Specialist to manage, maintain, and organize accurate medical records in a secure virtual healthcare environment. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and accessibility of patient information while supporting efficient clinical operations and revenue cycle workflows remotely.

Your expertise with electronic health records (EHR) systems, medical terminology, and healthcare documentation standards will be essential in reviewing, updating, and retrieving patient records while maintaining compliance with healthcare privacy regulations. Responsibilities

Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical records (EMR) remotely with accuracy, timeliness, and strict adherence to patient confidentiality policies.
Organize, review, and manage digital medical records to ensure efficient retrieval for clinical teams, billing departments, audits, and compliance reviews.
Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy regulations, including HIPAA requirements, data security policies, and medical record retention standards.
Support remote records management processes and recommend workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Assist with revenue cycle management by reviewing medical documentation, verifying billing-related information, and supporting accurate claims processing.
Collaborate virtually with healthcare providers, administrative teams, and billing staff to ensure proper documentation practices and accurate use of medical terminology.
Conduct routine remote audits of medical records to identify missing information, documentation errors, and compliance issues.
Maintain secure handling of sensitive patient information while working in a remote environment.

Experience & Qualifications

Proven experience working in a medical office, healthcare, or administrative environment with a focus on medical records management or documentation support.
Experience using electronic health records (EHR) or electronic medical records (EMR) platforms.
Strong understanding of healthcare privacy regulations, including HIPAA compliance and patient data security standards.
Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical documentation requirements, and healthcare workflows.
Experience maintaining confidential medical records according to legal and regulatory guidelines.
Familiarity with revenue cycle management, billing processes, or claims documentation is preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage tasks independently in a remote setting.
Strong written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively through virtual communication tools.
