GEM Manufacturing, Inc is a family-owned machining facility in Kenosha, WI specializing in mid- to high-volume precision production. We operate advanced CNC and Inspection equipment in a clean, climate-controlled environment where quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement drive our success.

We are currently hiring experienced CNC Milling professionals for:

2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM, Monday–Thursday
✅ Enjoy a 3-day weekend every week
✅ Overtime available on Fridays & Saturdays (encouraged, not mandatory)

Compensation

$24.00 – $29.00 per hour (based on experience & skill level)
+ $2.50 per hour Shift Premium

Equipment You’ll Work With

Standard CNC lathes with barfeeders
Dual spindle, dual turret lathes
Gantry (robot) loaded turning centers
Controls: Mazatrol and Fanuc
Standard horizontal mills

If you have experience with mills, multi-turret machines, automation, Mazatrol, or Fanuc controls — you’ll fit right in.

Our Turning / Milling Cell is a fast-paced, medium-volume environment with a variety of part numbers and materials. Operators are expected to run two machines while maintaining high-quality standards. Air conditioned shop.

As a CNC Milling Operator (Operator I / II)

Operators well versed in gaging who are ready to run and monitor production of two machines, we have a spot for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate CNC mills to produce precision components
Monitor machine cycles and detect issues
Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, Keyence, CMM and bore gauges
(Must complete inspection test during interview)
Perform offset adjustments and tool changes (Operator II level)
Deburr, wash, rustproof, and package finished parts
Maintain clean and organized work areas
Suggest improvements to workflow and process efficiency
Cross-train on CNC Lathes centers as needed

As a CNC Milling Setup Operator

For experienced machinists ready to take ownership of setups and mentor team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret blueprints, method sheets, and setup documentation
Assemble and install tooling in correct turret locations
Measure tools and enter data into Mazatrol and Fanuc controls
Configure barfeeders and automated loading systems
Establish offsets and prove out programs
Submit first-piece samples to Quality
Train and mentor Operator I & II team members
Troubleshoot production and optimize performance

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
3+ years machining experience OR
Technical college machining certificate with 1+ year related experience
Ability to read blueprints
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
(Must complete inspection test during interview)
Experience with Mazatrol and/or Fanuc preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Common tolerances at GEM Manufacturing, Inc are +/-0.0003" for bores, ODs and flatness. Can you accurately measure using vernier Dial Bore Gages, Micrometers, Air Gages, Flatness Gages, and CMMs?
If applying for a Setup position, do you have experience with complete tear-down, kitting new tools offline, installing and teaching tooling in the machine?
As a setup person, you may be asked to complete the First Article Inspection for another. Do you have experience in measuring all features on the print to approve the part prior to moving on with production?
