Position Summary

A.M. Woodland Contracting Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Construction Purchasing Coordinator to oversee the procurement of materials, subcontractors, permits, and logistics for residential construction and remodeling projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget by coordinating purchasing activities, maintaining vendor relationships, managing warehouse inventory, and supporting project teams throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities & Duties

Procurement & Purchasing

· Source, price, purchase, and track materials, fixtures, finishes, and supplies.

· Prepare and issue purchase orders.

· Negotiate pricing and purchasing agreements.

· Research new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.

· Maintain purchasing records and documentation.

· Assist with project budget tracking.

Subcontractor Coordination

· Build relationships with subcontractors and vendors.

· Solicit and review bids.

· Issue purchase orders and subcontract agreements.

· Coordinate subcontractor scheduling.

Material Planning & Project Support

· Perform material takeoffs from construction plans.

· Review blueprints for purchasing requirements.

· Coordinate jobsite deliveries.

· Resolve delivery and quality issues.

· Communicate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Vendors, and Field Staff.

Permitting & Documentation

· Obtain permit documentation.

· Prepare and submit permit applications.

· Track permit approvals.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

· Manage warehouse inventory and organization.

· Monitor stock levels and reorder materials.

· Coordinate incoming deliveries and outgoing allocations.

Logistics Coordination

· Schedule deliveries.

· Verify complete and timely deliveries.

· Resolve vendor delivery discrepancies.

Additional Responsibilities

· Ensure compliance with company policies.

· Evaluate supplier performance.

· Assist with process improvements.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

· 3–7 years of purchasing or procurement experience in construction.

· Knowledge of residential construction materials and purchasing processes.

· Ability to read blueprints and perform material takeoffs.

· Strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred

· Experience with purchasing/inventory software.

· Knowledge of estimating and budgeting.

· Experience coordinating permits.

· Warehouse inventory management experience.
