Position Summary
Nourse Farms is a leading player in the plant propagation industry, known for our commitment to excellence in providing high-quality plant stock. The Commercial Director is the most senior commercial leadership role within Nourse Farms and is responsible for leading the organization’s strategic sales, customer growth, commercial planning, and business development efforts across North America. This role is designed for a hands-on, results-driven commercial leader with deep agriculture industry experience and a proven ability to build relationships, lead teams, grow revenue, and create long-term strategic value. The Commercial Director will oversee key commercial initiatives including strategic account management, sales funnel development, market expansion, customer retention, and commercial team leadership while helping position Nourse Farms as a trusted industry partner and market leader.
Working cross-functionally with Production, Operations, Agronomy, Marketing, Finance, and Executive Leadership, this individual will help shape the future direction of the commercial organization while ensuring the customer experience aligns with the Nourse Farms brand promise from first interaction through post-sale support. This role requires a leader who understands agriculture markets, customer production cycles, sales strategy, and relationship-driven business development while maintaining a strong operational mindset focused on accountability, communication, execution, and long-term growth.
Built from the foundation of the Commercial Accounts Manager role while significantly expanding leadership, strategic oversight, and commercial responsibilities, this position represents a critical next step in the evolution and growth of the Nourse Farms commercial organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute strategic commercial growth plans aligned with company objectives and long-term business goals
- Establish and manage commercial performance metrics, pipeline tracking, forecasting processes, and account growth initiatives
- Collaborate with Executive Leadership to help shape commercial priorities, revenue objectives, and strategic direction
- Ensures link between marketing and sales function by establishing / maintaining regular commercial team cadence
Strategic Account Management
- With the CEO, support the organization’s highest-value commercial relationships while ensuring exceptional customer engagement and long-term partnership development
- Maintain a strong understanding of customer operations, production planning cycles, market pressures, and growth objectives
- Oversee strategic account planning initiatives focused on retention, growth, and customer lifetime value
- Reinforce the Nourse Farms value proposition through proactive communication, operational alignment, and commercial leadership
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- In collaboration with the CEO, CAO, and CMO, support pricing strategy, market positioning, and commercial planning efforts
- Build and maintain a robust commercial sales pipeline with clear visibility into opportunities, risks, and growth potential
- Contribute to customer acquisition strategies that strengthen market penetration and overall commercial performance
Team Leadership & Development
- Foster a high-performance, customer-focused commercial culture built on accountability, communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Assist in the development of internal sales processes, communication standards, and customer engagement best practices
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support inventory planning, forecasting, customer communication, and seasonal demand management
- Ensure commercial activities align with operational capabilities and customer service expectations
- Support CRM, ERP, and commercial reporting initiatives to improve visibility, efficiency, and customer engagement
- Steers prioritizations of marketing and sales outreaches based on available content, sales offerings / campaigns, and available stock
Industry Leadership & Brand Representation
- Represent Nourse Farms professionally at industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, conferences, and networking opportunities
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, competitive activity, agricultural market conditions, and customer challenges
- Support initiatives that strengthen brand reputation, customer trust, and market differentiation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Sales, Marketing, or related field preferred
- 7–10+ years of progressive sales leadership, commercial management, or strategic account management experience
- Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, customer retention, pipeline development, and strategic business expansion
- Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational, forecasting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in CRM, ERP, Microsoft Office Suite, and commercial reporting systems
- Ability to travel as required for customer visits, industry events, and commercial meetings
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
